three general styles magic can be worked
Invocation/incantation: in which the caster gathers forces and explains through words of power what they wish to accomplish.
Sympathy: in which the caster creates a link between the subject of his spell and an item, then does to the item what he wishes to happen to the subject.
Signalization: in which the caster creates a symbol or drawing representing the intention of the spell, spiritually charges and filled with his will, usually on or near the subject the spell is meant to effect.
Talismanic/amuletic: in which nateral objects are gathered and spiritually charges to provide the caster with a connection to the power the objects represent.
